About this deal

Excellent Quality: Of all the surfskate brands I’ve tried, I would put Carver skateboards at the top of the list in terms of overall quality.

Surfskates have been taking the surf world by storm. Marketed as a way to get your flow on during the flat days, improve your surfing with similar-movement repetition and training, or just have fun cruising around the neighborhood, I’ve been riding surfskates for the past few years for all of the above reasons, and would strongly recommend them to any surfer. I would also (more gently) recommend them to any non-surfer for how much sheer fun they can be. I always have a surfskate in my car for when I find myself with a few minutes and an open parking lot, or (as is often the case in San Francisco) when I’m forced to park far away and walk to my destination. My favorite use for them is in downhill runs. Instead of a bombing straightline, a surfskate lets you take a much more controlled descent full of deep, powerful carves and tail slides. Obviously, no one can definitely answer this question because there is so much personal preference involved. Are more responsive to lower body movements — in fact, they require more from your ankles and knees than the pure surf trainers. However, you might appreciate the looser, smoother feel; deeper rail-to-rail lean, and more upper body responsiveness that the C7 offers. I love Carver surfskates and find them to be among the highest quality and most versatile surfskates on the market. Carver is the only surfskate company that offers a lifetime warranty. I feel confident recommending Carver surfskates to anyone, surfers and non-surfers alike.

Create more lateral side-to-side motion with pumping, as opposed to forward momentum. While they are easier to pump, they don’t pull you forward as much when you pump. Carver Roundhouse wheels come in standard shapes in two sizes, 70mm and 68mm. They also come in a 69mm concave version, which I’ll discuss below.

Wheelbase: this is a crucial factor when choosing your Carver board. A longer wheelbase means more stability but slower turns. Scotland & NI - We cannot provide next day delivery for some areas of Scotland And Northern Ireland, our courier service will instead offer a 2 day service, please inquire to find out more about your postcode. For example, if your stance width is 16″, then your wheelbase range on Carver models is between 15″ and 17″. This is a great mini for working on deep carves, tight turns, and smooth transitions, especially for smaller riders. It’s also well-suited for tight sidewalks and is highly portable for “surf commuting”.Shape: the aspect ratio and shape design of your Carver board is important not just for aesthetics, it impacts how the board leans, carves, and pumps. Concave is also important for technical riding. The popular Carver C7 axis has been accepted by surfers since the start. Despite that, it didn´t convince those that came from skate and the longboard world. So there came the CX axis. A new axis that is a bit simpler, which mixes part of the C7 with a conventional axis. An axis with similar sensations to the famous C7, which can carve and pump and is made for skateparks and bowls. The Signal is a very versatile size and shape, Signal is a fast pumping classic surfskate ideal for everything from maneuverable driveway surfing to stable pushing through town. Basically, there are two sets of criteria you need to match when choosing a Carver surfskate: Rider characteristics Designed after Bing’s beautiful Continental longboard surfboard (9′ to 11′ in length), the Carver x Bing Continental 37″ surf skate is now the longest and widest board in Carver’s lineup.

Great for Any Skill Level: Carver skateboards work fantastic for any skill level, from beginner to advanced. Once you have your stance width measurement (in inches), then add an inch below and an inch above your stance width to get your wheelbase range. So in my case, at an 18″ stance width, my wheelbase range is 17-19″.Your boarding skills and style: your experience with board sports (surfing, snowboarding, longboarding etc) can influence your choice of Carver skateboard. A shortboard surfer may choose a shorter and surfier Carver, a longboard surfer a more flowy setup, a longboard skater may opt for a more stable Carver setup. This tight collection of four models hits every major surfskateindex, from the short and snappy to the long and carvy. An affordable entry into surfskate, the Triton series maintains the great quality and responsive performance you expect fromCarver.

Founded in 1996 in Venice Beach, California by Neil Stratton and Greg Falk, Carver remains among the top surfskate brands. For me, it does everything the C7 can do, but it’s lighter, easier to pump, and creates more forward momentum. This tight collection of four models hits every major surfskate index, from the short and snappy to the long and carvy. An affordable entry into surfskate, the Triton series maintains the great quality and responsive performance you expect from Carver. After riding all these surfskate systems, I’ve come to look at them on a scale ranging from pure surf trainers to pure street cruisers. So the performance difference is really about a snappy pump (CX) like a shortboard quad surfboard or a flowy pump (C7) like a short retro single fin.” After that, they haven´t stopped evolving in the designs of their skates. All the way to the popular C7 Carver axis, which is the best know axis in the market with the Smoothstar axis. Carver C7 vs CX Axis
